Financial, Insurance, Industrial, Healthcare and many other F500 orgs that use data lake containing Greenplum with Hadoop. With BlueTalon, one such company was able to implement a Data Democratization policy framework that allows end users to access the subset of data based on the business they belong to or their finance functional area through templated dynamic attribute based database, table, row filtering and column masking rules. Policies defined in BlueTalon were enforced identically across data platforms and applications that eliminated ~300 custom coded views in databases, joins with large security tables with 10m rows in middleware or duplication of logic in multiple applications. We will extend this to a discussion of managing consent and pseudonymization to enforce GDPR.
Pratik Verma of BlueTalon will present a practitioner’s view of what led to the creation of the Data Democratization framework and key learnings based on experience implementing the framework. We will drill down on how the tech works for Greenplum and PostgreSQL in particular and how views were replaced.
